Charity Work

Congratulations all Holywell pupils that were…

Funny For Money!

on Friday 18th March

Thank you for helping us to raise an outstanding £843.95 for Comic Relief this year by entertaining your family at home.

We celebrated in a special assembly last week, many of the creative ways in which pupils raised such a super amount:

Telling jokes (Some were even funny!)

Making loopy Lego models

Performing puppet shows

 Doing dazzling dances

Sharing silly stories

Singing sparkling songs

Sponsored silences (Much appreciated in some quarters)

… and many, many other creative ways of extorting money with

smiles, grins, giggles and belly laughs.

WELL DONE All!

from Mr Stephenson on behalf of Holywell School Council

Thank you

Mike Harrison, Community Champion for Tesco Loughborough (pictured) delivered their kind donation of biscuits and spaghetti for our whole school science week this year.

Thank You All…

On behalf of the

Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal

for all of your generous donations and purchases of poppy merchandise.

We marked Armistice Day this year (11/11/21) as ever in school, with a whole-school two-minute silence outside on the playground.

We are so proud of how well all of our pupils showed respect and reflection during this week. We are also proud of all of those pupils and staff who took part in the Remembrance Parades among our local community.

THANK YOU!

For all of your kind donations and entries to our Pudsey & Blush

Design an Outfit Competition.

Barnardo’s Cottage Fundraising

£440 Raised!

Way back in June 2019, over 40 families from Holywell returned their ‘Cottage Moneyboxes’ that they had agreed to take home and fill over a number of months.

Unfortunately, the collection of the Barnardo’s money boxes was delayed, due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and so recently,

Mr Stephenson and a  number of helpful pupils in school got to work emptying and counting the contents over several weeks (there was a lot to count!).

Thank you to all those that donated and helped!

Hopefully, a representative from Barnardo’s will be able to thank us all properly in a virtual assembly soon.

Mr Stephenson (On behalf of Holywell School Council)
