Cool Milk & Snacks

Healthy Snacks and Fruity Friday

Children in Reception and Key Stage 1 are provided with a free piece of fruit every day as part of the Government's School Fruit and Vegetable Scheme. This is available during the morning break and helps to promote healthy eating habits. As all children in these year groups receive a daily fruit snack, there is no need for them to bring a snack from home.

Children in Key Stage 2 are encouraged to bring a healthy snack from home to enjoy at breaktime. Healthy choices such as fruit, vegetables or other nutritious snacks help children to maintain their energy levels and concentration throughout the day.

To celebrate healthy eating, every Friday is known as Fruity Friday. On this day, each class counts the number of children who have chosen a healthy snack. These totals are collected throughout the half term, and the winning class in each key stage is awarded the Golden Pineapple. In Reception, children compete to win the much-loved Cuddly Pineapple. This friendly competition encourages children to make healthy choices and promotes positive habits across the school.

Thank you for supporting us in encouraging healthy lifestyles and positive eating habits for all our children.
