I would like to thank you for your interest in teaching at Holywell Primary School. Although we are a large primary school, we are a close, strong staff and very supportive of each other, and we enjoy the opportunity to welcome people with similar values to our team.

Our governors are also very supportive and are seeking to appoint an inspiring teacher, with highly effective curriculum delivery, who will work with us to maintain our commitment to excellence and high standards in all aspects of school life. We hope this person will bring their interests to the team and enjoy working with a team committed to the best education possible for our children.

The teacher who joins us will need to be able to work closely with colleagues on all aspects of the curriculum and organisational planning. We work in year-group teams, including support staff, and share the planning of the class curriculum. We pay close attention to the needs of each child, working to achieve the best possible achievement and progress for every child, whilst ensuring their wellbeing.

There is a programme of staff meetings and Key Stage meetings throughout the year, where we all meet to share INSET, moderation, organisation, ideas, and news! We also encourage staff to support the extensive extra-curricular programme of activities including sporting, musical, and creative clubs.

Holywell is part of a collaborative partnership in Loughborough – the LPAP group (Loughborough Primary Academy Partnership) that seeks to promote the education of all children in the partnership by building strong ties between teachers. Our teachers network together, sometimes through job roles e.g. English Coordinators, Learning Mentors, etc. but also through regular meetings with teachers working in the same year group. This enables moderation, sharing of ideas and resources, and professional discussion.

We have well-behaved, respectful children, who are interested and engaged in their learning. They have learned about Growth Mindset during the past two years and frequently demonstrate perseverance, resilience, and independence in their learning. They are also friendly, welcoming and fun. As a school, we hold the Level 2 Rights Respecting School Award (and are aiming for Level 3) and our children demonstrate their understanding of children’s rights across the world and their commitment to helping children less fortunate than themselves.

Hopefully, you are still interested in joining us – if so, please ensure that you complete the application form (only applications on the correct form can be considered).
