Dear Parents/Carers

I am writing regarding the recent developments of the Covid outbreak in response to the most up to date government guidance.

The latest guidance continues to state that primary aged children should continue to attend school, even if there is a positive case within their house.  As such we would like to ask parents to continue to work closely with us to ensure that the risk to the school community is minimised as much as possible.

  • Where parents are conducting lateral flow tests with their children, please obtain the result of this test before bringing your child to school in order to reduce transmission.
  • If you receive a positive lateral flow result your child and all siblings in school must go for a PCR test.  You may need to leave more time in the morning to conduct the test to allow time for the result to be available before attending school on time.
  • If there is a positive case of Covid in the household, we would ask that all children obtain a PCR test before returning to school
  • If you are taking your child for a PCR test, please also make the school office aware by leaving a message on the school answerphone system so we can conduct the necessary reporting.
  • We would continue to ask that children do not attend school while awaiting the results of a PCR test to minimise the potential risk of transmission in school.

Together with these measures, we would like to ask parents to be mindful of the following as we aim to reduce the number of individuals coming into our school buildings which can become busy at times.

Please ensure your child(ren) attend school on time as we have seen a marked increase in children attending school late.

  • Appointments out of school should be kept to a minimum and scheduled outside of school hours where possible.
  • If your child(ren) will be collected by a different individual after school, please advise the office prior to 12noon so the class teacher can be made aware by afternoon registration.
  • Please ensure children come to school with everything they need for the day including coats, water bottles, swimming kits, music instruments, packed lunches (if applicable)

This will help the school in reducing the unnecessary movement of staff around the premises.  Additionally, we would like to remind parents and carers to ensure masks are worn when entering the school site and you use the sanitising gel provided.

Thank you to all our families for their continued support and engagement during this difficult time as we continue to work to reduce the spread of the virus within school and ensure the safety of the school community.

Mr Petrie
